This statement doesn't make much sense to me. Generators, speakers and cd turntables are not waterproof. Especially considering that the power generators are on floats and will not be grounded. No sound engingeer is going to turn his equipment on outdoors in the rain. The City could just pull the parade-permit out of fear that people could get electrocuted.

This is fucking bullshit, why the hell didn't the organizers schedule the parade a little earlier?

No clue about the others but of course you can buy waterproof generators. I doubt the risk of electrocution is much higher with a few drops of rain than not.

Just read on another post here in the SoCal asection that they are putting up awnings/tarp and outdoor heaters. The DNB float is gonna be under a bridge of some sort and some House float is under a tent. The poster also claimed that they added a "carnival" if it doesn't rain

I don't give a shit if it pours as long as they don't cancel the damn thing!

I hope it does rain on all you lucky ravers. My ride bailed and plane tickets would force me to take money out of savings. No bueno. I hate people that flake. Someone please take good videos of Armin @ the Afterparty?!?!
