I just wrote something about this in the "groove tickets" thread ...
Why in the world is skills charging so much for a fucking ticket though? I attended monster massive and it wasn't even 60 bucks..and that party was fucking massive with non stop headline deejays everywhere. Do you think its greed? Or possible the Civic Center people who run it are getting tired of these parties?Give an opinion. |

Because it is expensive as all hell to throw an event in such a nice ass spot like the Bill Graham.
Not to mention the other countless, numerous costs that are associated with throwing that type of party with those headliners, period. You get what you pay for, and you are paying for a top notch quality production, the best that Northern California has had to offer us the past few years at least. It's like comparing filet mignon to a steak. The steak may come bigger on the plate, but you know where your money goes when you take a bite into a filet. |

I got mine back when they were $40.
A little preplanning can save 20-30 bucks down the line. |

Monster massive could have the same lineup as pop but the bill graham is a lot smaller then the LA sports arena, there are a lot more people in LA, 40,000 people compared to 10,000. Think about it. and like mojo said buy in advanced save yourself some money. CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL THERE OISGIUHGUISHG

i disagree with the other folks on here. I know it does cost a LOT to throw these, a whole helluva lot. But the price of massives (even see easbayriders analogy about monstermassive) hasn't always been $65 a pop (no pun intended.
i think there is some natural rises in costs. security is probably more these days etc etc. But i think there are a certain about of gougers out there. I think of it this way: If everyone who made $5 last year decided this year they deserved $6, we'd have a major price increase. Again I think its a bit of money lust on teh part of these major DJ's, the bill grahmers, and the coordinators. I cant say for certain, and i could be totally off base, but I think this is just typically what happens when an activity gains more popularity. But either way, keep coming out and keep having fun. If its too much say fuckit and wait for smaller ones. Eventually if enough people do the price will drop, or at least smaller ones will pop up more. Or everything will fall apart and well be at home on sat nights reading books by the fire, which isn't all bad by my estimates. |

It's Popsicle's 10th year running. The popularity wasn't gained overnight. Perceivable money lust aside, this concert is worth the dough. SRSLY.
