I surprised the view of PLUR is so negative here on Ravelinks.
In my jadedness, I still have an idealistic view of PLUR. But, it's also tied to very fond memories of when I was a raver baby. Maybe there was E involved, maybe not. But in my infant days, there really was an overwhelming feeling of love & unity & community in those big warehouses. When I threw parties, I never did it for the money. Sure, it was great to break even, but throwing parties shouldn't be about money. I tried to create environments that would make other people to feel what I felt when I first started raving. For me, it was magical. To the person who said the promoters don't make the vibe, I totally disagree. The vibe starts with the promoter; the ravers enhance it. The promoters' intentions are the basis of the vibe for the party. And if you're familiar with energy and energy work, then you know a vibe can be created. |

Oh Jesus Kristie snap out of it.
As Mojofuck said, Plur is a state of delusion, however it IS a bad thing. The longer you igtnore reality and use this acronym as an escape from life, the more you harm your chances of actually being a functioning member of society (I mean you as a broad term, not you specifically). Grow up, rejoin the real world, and stop running away from your life. |

Raving or drugs aren't a part of my life anymore, but that doesn't mean I regret any of my time doing either of them. As for rejoining the real world, I've always been in the real world while I was raving. I always had good jobs, I've owned real estate. My bank account is bigger than most ravers will make during their entire lives. I've lived in the real world; it's kinda overrated. And just because I believe in love & community & PLUR & that shit, doesn't mean I'm running away from anything. This is why I go to Burning Man and you don't understand why. (I still love you, tho ) |

There was a time I would have liked to think things like that wouldn't happen. I mean, the rave scene was supposed to be a utopia, an escape. As soon as I got involved with the production side, I learned THAT idea was delusional. |

DBS: Thats because no one reads your posts anymore :P
I honestly don't think the only way to stop people from exploiting people with a PLUR mindstate is to kill PLUR altogether. Unless you've completely brainwashed yourself with the idea that everyone at a rave has the best of intentions and wants to be your friend, you'll find that it has a on-off switch. When someone's being a dickbag at a rave, I don't just stand around and say "PLUR will fix it all", I go tell him to stop being a dickbag. Changeable mentality is what allows people to be able to fully understand and experience PLUR as well as live everyday competitive lives in a real world. |

E-tarded delusioned candy kids that you're trying to educate would respond better if your posts were more PLURful and less insulting
