Aside from Peace, Love, Unity , Respect. What does it REALLY mean to you?
Do you think you exude the principles of PLUR? Do you think promoters are about providing an enviroment of good vibes, or are they just there for the money? Finally, is PLUR still alive (was it ever)? |

Please Learn to Understand Reason
No really though, I think I need to wait and hear some of the response these kids come up with before I respond. |

I already talked about this in some other thread, and I've got a badass headache right now, so I don't feel like re-elaborating. Let's just believe that I think the word gets thrown around way too much to the point of where its near worthless, and that most people don't actually understand the ideal of it when they use it.

No not really, PLUR is kind of a grey area, for me at least. To be plur for me is live my life the best that I can, and to appreciate everything we are given. It doesn't just apply to raves for me. I am not the kind of person to just sit around and watch somebody get hurt or something I love deteriorate. If there is any way possible for me lend a hand, any hand to help somebody when they are in need I will. That is just an example, I could go on for hours giving examples. Most promoters are about providing a good enviroment. I wouldn't say vibe because the people create that, the promoter just provides an ideal place and the music for it to manifest. Again I say MOST promoters, if you were around this summer i'm sure everyone remembers And your final question, I dont think plur is something which exists as a being, it's simply ideology, guidelines, and some people follow it, some people dont, it's always been that way. |

PLUR doesn't mean anything to me. It's just a made up word that doesn't exist in any dictionary.
However, I'm much more of a fan of Respect. When I go to parties, I have a certain amount of respect I give to other partygoers, the crew, security and the venue itself. I don't get into fights, I don't bring in weapons, and I don't go lacing other people with acid (I find this highly deplorable and consider you a fucking scumbag if you take pleasure in doing this). I go to parties to have fun, not to follow any ideological rave dogma. But I have ethics and morals that I do follow, and one of them is to have fun without taking it away from other people. If I'm too fucked up, I go to the back of the room, not lie on the middle of the dance floor so people can trip over me. If I see someone who's badly dehydrated, I offer them my water. If I'm chatting with other ravers and they want to know more about my previous rave experiences, I gladly share it with them. But if they don't ask, then I don't tell. I don't need to go running around making people know how ravecool I am. If certain people do find me cool, then it's a conclusion that they have reached, not by my forcing it on them. You want a better scene? Then have people make wiser and better decisions for themselves. Get educated. Root out the bad promoters and support the good ones. You might see the happiness grow more naturally without ever having to yell out, such a meaningless word. |

oh great, another one of THESE threads.
hahahah just kidding PLUR basically means to me the basic "treat others how they want to be treated" type thing. We all just want the same thing - to have a great time at a party. If you dont want a flyer someone gives you, throw it in the trash or politely refuse to take the flyer from someone in the first place. Basically, think about the shit others have to go through before you think about yourself. We're all there to have fun, but to make that possible some people have to go through loads of work so that YOU can be happy. If promoters really were just in it for the money, then why would they go through all the trouble of finding a venue (and hopefully getting it permitted), booking DJs, sound, lighting, and all that? Sometimes shit does happen like a party getting shut down, venue owners being assholes and running off with the cashbox, etc. and its very understandable when a promoter knows he/she will get blamed by the scene because it is their responsibility to make sure the party runs smoothly. Yes its embarassing if something happens and we get scared if our reputation is destroyed, but I have always believed 100% that AN INNOCENT PERSON HAS NOTHING TO HIDE. Ignore the problems, and people KNOW you're guilty. Man up and admit you made a terrible mistake and want to do whatever it takes to make things better, and hopefully the scene will be willing to help. |

Ok...Plur huh?
Plur, in general, is worthless. Never have I seen so many people hold onto a four letter acronym as the answers to all of their problems. The way the people can just ignore the facts in a situation, slap this moniker on it and be content is simply baffling. For the most part, I have seen plur used as an excuse for people to not have to take responsibility for the negative things that happen around them. Instead of dealing with life, and taking responsibility for their own actions or the actions of others, they claim to be "too plur" and just happily ignore everything with the thought that they have done their part by remaining a retarded drone, and a drain on society. For instance... Any time a promoters screws over the scene, instead of taking action, speaking out, and making the bastards be acountable for their actions, everyone is like: "Plur plur guys! - Fighting won't get us anywhere, we have to stick together for the scene, PLUR!" Faggots... Stand up for yourselves, stand up for your friends. Grow a back bone and stop hiding behind some dilusional thought that everyone here is working together for the best interests of the group. Everyone, in the end, is out for themselves, as they should be, so fucking quit it. |
