why you went: I always liked to party but the typical "get shitfaced and random hook-up" party was gettingold. I love to dance so i gathered up some friends and ended up going.

reason for sticking with it: i had so much fun at my first rave i knew it wouldn't be the last. The music was awesome, and best of all were the people. I fell in love with all the people there and their outlook on life, they accept anyone with plur in their hearts. i wish other subcultures and lifestyles partied as hard as ravers. Anyone and everyone can be a raver and no one in this culture will judg you or your backround.

your idea of a smashing party: a good renegade or electric Daisy Carnival, anywhere where there is good vibes.

Date of first rave: 2002 i think.. I took a leave of absence from raving due to a bad experience, and only started up again in September 2006 at Stargasm. However its 4 years total of rave time.

why you went: [Ex-]Boyfriend told me to get in the car he was going to something and I wasn't allowed to stay at his place alone, nor was I about to stay with his friends at his place.

reason for sticking with it: I stuck with it at first because he brought me to parties every weekend. Then things went really bad.
Then I went to Stargasm with a close friend who had recently started raving, and was hit with memories and met new people and was introduced to a new scene.

your idea of a smashing party: Well of course all of my friends being able to make it, good music, a few rooms of music. Somewhere darker with maybe some trippy lights, but not enough light to really see everything. [nothing like the sunnyhell venue ^.^ lol] Chill people, fully clothed. Kandy acceptable however really wear something over it to get in, most likely in a broken into building. I like kandy myself but if you wear it into a party like I'm thinking of, which would take a bit of a walk and it draws attention which would mean no party, so ideally kandy under a sweatshirt.

I'm not good at describing things and hopefully this works and everyone gets the idea of it.

your idea of a smashing party: 3 Rooms, UK/Happy Hardcore, Gabber/Hardcore, DRUM N BASS, smashing sound, some good lasers, cool people all around. Of course all of my friends would be there. The UK/Happy hardcore room would be decked out in glowing, spacey, astral decor With glowing stars over head along with a great laser setup. The gabber and hardcore room would be mad scientist themed, think Dr. Frankensteins lab With those electricity orb toys, lots of fog, Lab props; beakers, tubes, hoses, with dry ice in colored water so it looks all spooky =D

then we would have the jungle room, do not take me lightly when i say jungle room, because i mean this room will be transformed into the jungle. Big paper mache trees against the walls(so you dont have to cast the whole thing just half) a canopy over head probably like the jungle net you see at parties, Fog coming ominously ouf the tree trunks and roots. Some green laser action, and blacklights. Yeah, that would be a bitching party, someday perhaps.

why you went: My housemates and a fuck buddy were going to this one. I had been wanting to go to a rave, so this seemed like the perfect time to do it.

reason for sticking with it: I loved the music (hadn't had too much exposure to elctronic before this...this was the first time I'd heard hardcore), dancing for hours, and the vibe. The people and the culture is what has kept me interested as I go to more and more raves.

your idea of a smashing party: alright, this is ridiculous: Outdoor/indoor. Sunset to Sunrise (or multiday campout!). Beach sound area. Up from the beach is a Foresty/Jungley sound area. Coming out of the forest is a big rocky hill that is fairly flat on the top that overlooks the forest and beach...sound area up there too. Two indoor sound areas too. One is surrounded by an aquarium on the ceiling, and three walls. The other is a futuristic and spaced themed area with multiple levels overlooking the main dance floor. Also indoors is a chillout and tripout room. All sound areas are super themed, decorated, and lit, each with their own bar and lounge area. Each area will spin multiple genres of music, but all the tracks in a given area will fit the environment and theme of the area. That's awesome enough for now...

reason for sticking with it: definatly the people and the great vibes. i had never listened to techno before, but im definatly a fan now. im still learning about new stuff, which is also fun. and i love to dance like a crazzy person alll night long.

your idea of a smashing party: anywhere with my best rave friends, a shit load of great people and great vibes and great music so i can dance. the vibes are super important i think, bc i went to one party that advertised itself as a rave but, i dunno, i felt very uncomfortable, and that is no good.

why you went: i was hearing about raves for a few months.. and desided i wanted to go.. so a bunch of friends took me, and i had a fucking blast !!

reason for sticking with it: i was blown away by how nice people were. i was used to going to places where everyone sat there and stared at you and judged you for every little thing. what i was wearing, who i was hanging out with, how much money i had. the people at raves didn't seem to do that. plus i loved the music, and i loved dancing... so i kept going everyonce in a while, and eventually i started going every weekend

your idea of a smashing party: a huge room. all my friends were there. none of them were missing. lazers everywhere. blacklights everywhere. strobelights, fog machines, amazing decoration, everyone there is dressed to match the theme. everyone is just having a great time. the music is bumpin.. and i'm dancing all night long. ^_^
