they dont want people going outside to take drugs, get drugs, steal, drink, or anything else illegal, its just a general safety for the promoter rule im guessing, less kids running around outside doing stupid shit = less chance of something bad happening or party being shut down.
though i could be wrong ya know, yeah it sucks, but oh well |

I'm not sure if there is any way around this... Maybe partys could start having a "Coat Check" thing where if you have important belongings you can just check them in there, but I don't think you would be able to get most places to do that, cause they don't want to be held liable for our stuff. I have this cool thing my mom made me that like holds my cell phone, my cigarettes, my money, my car key and fits (slightly uncomfortably) on my wrist (or if I have Kandi on) the part of my arm below the shoulder. It's kind of a bitch cause I have to take it off every time I get a cig or need cash or something, but it's much worse when my black car key goes flying out of my pocket (shirt pocket, no pockets in the fire pants) and I have to search for it on the floor.
So yeah, I dunno, depending on how big your camera is you could maybe manage with something like that. -Evan Last edited by thrillkiller; 13.9.2006 at 8:00 pm. Reason: Spelling Error |

I don't see anything wrong with somebody doing a coat check like that. I mean even at a small party I could rack in a couple hundred bucks by charging $2 to rent out a small 1x1x1 square to hold people's stuff in. So like for example, when you're done using the camera for $2 I'll give you a ticket and hold it till the end of the party or whenever you want it back. No-In's-Out's tho. Just In & Out. or I'll hold another space for $2 more. |

Yea, Ive gotten pretty good at hiding my shit...
you could make something and tie it onto your beltloop. I only bring disposable cameras, then get a cd made; I would not want to be out a few hundred bucks cuz my camera got broke or stolen. I think the coat check idea is awesome, but I doubt it will happen |

Get a press pass, they generally allow people who buy those to go in and out. Try talkign to the promoter about it.

I'd be down for the coat checks or whatever, but 1$ per 1 ft^3 square.

The biggest problem we run into as promoters with "in-n-outs" is the crowd control. Its not that we don't want you going back, but if we let you then 7624632843 others want to go then we have a party outside the party to control....big problem.
