I could use masturbation as an example, if you always masturbate laying down, its much harder to orgasm standing up. We have emphasized a limited range acceptable of perception and therefore the rest of our minds have atrophied, this "ADD" as you call it, is just the zenith of this. But this can be overcome with things like meditation and concentration exersizes, or even just exposure to other stimulii, like interaction with people or something that requires your own creativity. Or you could always try programming or logic ;p

Again, this is just a pet theory of mine, I lack sufficient subjects and empircal evidence to push it any harder.

Sorry for the offtopic

Anyway, Im still not sure how Im gonna make this shit, its got me worried ;p

*EDIT*
LoL, sorry, not shit, shirt, but I guess shit works too.

i've also heard that ADD is actually totally overdiagnosed and a good percentage of the kids that end up on meds have no actual, physical problems. a part of the hyperactivity and inability to concentrate in a school setting has to due with the cutting of recess time and physical education. kids eat tons of sugar and then aren't given the proper outlet for their energy. i don't know how true any of this is though.

My friend antranik summed it up pretty well in another forum discussion:

Worse off, a hierarchy exists that shows some subjects are supposed to be more important than others. This is absolute ludicrous. Math, science, english are the subjects things that get all the attention, while sports, fine arts and dance are considered to be of a lower tier.

Children have so many strengths and weaknesses and rather than allowing them to freely explore their creativity, they kill it. Outlets of creativity are as important as literacy and we should treat it as the same status.

As children grow up we start to educate them progressively from the waist up and and then we focus on their heads, and slightly to one side. Know what I mean?

We don't grow into creativity, we get educated out of it.

These kids who are considered to be hopeless or said to have a learning disorder, are labeled as having ADD or ADHD. These are people who can't sit still; people who have to move to think.

People who have to move, to think.

They act in ways that our educational system has no place to accommodate for them. And instead of finding out a solution for them, we hop them up full of drugs in an attempt to make them calmer and more "normal."

Can we get any sadder than this?

Our teachers get paid 40k a year while somehow basketball players get millions for shooting a ball through a hoop. It's not just our educational system that's got issues, it's our society as a whole.

ADHD is just a diagnosis of a personality trait thats more intense then what's the standard "normative" behavior.

Thats pretty much what every single personality diagnosis really is, though.
A classification of someone, usually with pharmaceuticals attached, that we deem separate or different from society because other then said medicinal treatment, the country, government, educational system, or parents do not know or have the resources to deal with those behaviors.

Even a difference can be seen when people live in the US, then go to other countries, and then back.

A report from somebody referring to diet as a way of treatment for ADHD:

"I was diagnosed with A.D.D. (A.D.H.D) when I was 6 in 1984. about a decade ago I tried a self directed elimination diet after I had returned from living in Europe: where my symptoms of hyperactivity had completely disappeared. It took me 5 years, but I finally realized that I was allergic to CORN, including HFCS, corn syrup and all the other 1,200 derivatives of corn that are in 70% of our US foods. This allergy caused my A.D.H.D. I felt good and Europe (and since in Canada) because they use wheat not corn in most their foods. It took me so long to figure this out in the US, because in the ingredient lists of most products corn can be called, gluten, dextrose, and is used to make food coloring and food additives...etc.. etc..

The other interesting parallel that I discovered is that after the US initiated its trade embargo with Cuba in the mid-70s our supply of cheap cane sugar was cut-off and manufacturers had to find another source of sweetener. It was at this point that the corn suppliers stepped in and corn has been a major additive of our foods since. This addition of corn to our foods in non-traditional ways parallels exactly the increase in diagnosis of disruptive children with A.D.H.D. in the late 70s and early 80s. So my advice, take a week off corn (and A.D.H.D. medications)... Make your own food from scratch and just see if this makes a difference in your life. I can feel the difference with in 2 or 3 days."

I know if i got tested i would be diagnosed with ADHD, and probrably prescribed a really high dosage of aderal or strattera. IMO, those meds are worse than most illegal drugs we discuss on these forums.

What people also do not realize is the food they feed children.

now while to is it may seem obvious that the amount of sugar and artificial flavorings in a meal may add to inability to focus and concentrate, some people do not.

Back to how society treats kids who can not focus.
even video games have been proven to help:[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I could go on more, but i think yall get the point...society sucks when it comes to getting to the real origin of a problem.

Hey can I get some opinions on my outfit? I normally wear all black with a white tie to raves because I like looking spiffy (which coincidentally is my rave name, lawl) Is this look played out or something or do I look like a tool? Nobody ever gives me any feedback on it so I kind of feel out of place sometimes.
Anyway, if I continue in this style, I want to be a little more adventurous with color. I was thinking all black with a pink tie, pink shades, and pink laces. Your thoughts?

p.s. I fucking love all you guys in the bay area rave community.
