I wish I had been into raves themselves long long ago. I would love to have more oldschool hardcore.... just in general.
And yeah, I would be so excited for a hardcore/ HHC only party. ![]() |

I agree on the most part that TRANCE is hardly represented at parties anymore.
You have 7 happy hardcore DJs, and then randomly throw Dyloot as a headliner in that room doesnt mean its a trance room. Even then there are different styles of trance these days; Progressive, psytrance, techtrance, oldschool, and epic/melodic. It seems like the common raver these days cant comprehend any trance music made after 2003. All they want is their oldschool trance anthems and the occasional vocal trance song that hit it big recently (probably from above & beyond). With trance heading in that whole electro/progressive genre now, it really isnt the same as what it used to be. My goal is to strive away from that and bring out some newer energetic trance that still pumps a dance floor up, and has pleanty of catchy melodies that get stuck in your head just like those oldschool tunes. Its time for some new favorites. Being a trance DJ, i understand how little trance is shown in the underground, and the only way to hear some quality stuff is at a 21+ club or the occasional Skills Massive. Cant say much about happy hardcore, but i have love for that genre too ![]() |

I concur....indeed he does Quote:
I think if you played most ravers a trance record from 1996-1998 they would not recognize it as trance. I personally don't even think that what is called trance today is accurate. Somewhere along the lines the definition got erroneously attached to a whole other genre, same thing has happened with garage and to a degree, house music. I mean, how can you have either house or garage that is not funky? I'm lost... Last edited by Idi0tb0x; 16.3.2007 at 10:34 am. Reason: automerged doublepost |

yea, trance as well has hhc completely died off around early 2000. The shit that they pass off as trance and hhc now is just plain awful, and its pretty evident that the sounds have completely failed and fallen off track....probably because they were just so specific in nature.
I too miss those early hhc parties, back in the late 90s to 2001ish....it was going off! arthur woo, donny (NLT), cloudskipper and yagi were runnin things back then. even if you were to revive a decent hhc party you'd be tough to find DJs that would play older stuff |

If only A)It was easier to find older records
or B)The newer songs produced had more of that original sound to it Though a few mixes i have been listening to lately do seem to have more of the older hardcore sound to it, however im not sure when they are from =| some awesome tracks on em though |
