originally i wanted to just use my nickname as my "DJ" name, however i realized there are probably 1000 DJ Rabbits throughout the world. So any knowledgeble people know about any "etiquette" as far as choosing a DJ name goes.

This may be a ridiculous question but nothing else too interesting seemed to be going on on page 1

Shit man, call yourself DJ rabbit, who cares if someone else has it. Hell call yourself Paul Van Dyke. The only requisite is that you're better than the others out there, which seems to me good reason to pick a common name--you'll force yourself to be the best. Don't just be A DJ Rabbit be THE DJ Rabbit.

I dunno, let ur music make ya famous, not a name. Either way, hope your Monday is more super-duper than most. Peace!

Thats pretty much what i felt about it. If you can be the best with the name its truly yours heh.

we shall see as far as names go

Suppose when it comes to producing its a little different, but thats a little ways off bwahahaha

I Dj, just trying to solidify a name to put on my "work"

I thought it would be cool to wait til the day i DJ in front of a crowd, if ever, and derive a name from that experience, but i figure its a lot harder to get a booking without a name than with one.

What would you consider a "DJ".

This is also something i have thought about, i've never been sure if i deserved or liked the title "DJ". It's a hobby of mine, that i feel im pretty good at, always getting better. I would love for it to become my career in the way of production as well.

I suppose a name is just a name, though.

I know this is going to sound weird coming from me but.....

Try to find something original. You'll thank yourself later.

I was given my name by my predecessor in Love Allstars...

Now I want to change it b/c I'm playing out of state, and producing music.

Not sure what to change it to...b/c I've been AdamAnt for so long.

I'll prolly just end up being Adam A. B/c it's not too far off from what it is now.

Just do a bunch of research, see what the other DJ Rabbits out there are like.

Type in Dj Rabbit in google, search it on myspace. If they are just a bunch of local DJs like yourself, there wont be a problem. However if they got a few record releases under their belt and constantly do out-of-state shows, i'd think otherwise. Maybe use your first name and then Rabbit, or some kinda play like that.

My DJ name used to be Emerald Fusion, but than I discovered that was the name of a band in Germany, as well as the name of some pro-wrestling finishing move. Plus there are already lots of DJs & Producers with just the name Emerald already.

The only other Dj Saphyre i found was some fugly blonde chick that spins hip hop, so i guess im good to go.

If you have someting in mind my best advice is to google it and put dj in search box with the name. If nothing comes up then you should be in the money.

I wanted to choose Stewart Who? (sad though it may seem I'ma big Doctor Who fan) but it seems that it's already been taken........

Just sticking with the name my parents give me for now.

I've also heard that it's not exactly etiquette to choose a name for yourself. I heard that it should be "bequethed" to you by friends or fans and should be in someway related to your skills, the way that you play, what you play etc. If you hang around waiting for your friends to decide you could be waiting for a while.

Good Luck with your quest.

Stewart
