Cyberfest!! Ever Comin Back????

Hey I Was Just Curious And Wanted To See If Anyone Knew Any Info On Cyberfest One Of The Best Raves Of The Year Until Some Bad Shit Went Down One Year And Got One Cancelled And Now I Dont Know If They Ever Or Will Bring It Back. Does Anyone Know The Status And Have Anything On If It Is Coming Back To The Bay Area? Thanks For Your Help If You Know Anything.

good question, i would always dj in the tents with wild @ cyberfest. but last year or the year before cyberfest couldnt even fill up the front parking lot, from what i herd the main people from coolworld tried to save money, or didnt want to spend big bucks on big time djs, also i think cuz of the drugs bein out there thats why some people died of o/d and hella 40yr old undercover cops that wore hawiian shirts to blend in lol. but i dont think cyberfest will comeback for a while unless they get big time dj's like they used to, like bbb, dj dan, keoki, maybe tiesto now that would fill up the spot! lol but over all it proly wont come back at all or for a few years.

the rave i thought was the best was metropolis 2001 at 3 com park that was fun inside the field n everything that was crazy!!! lol but i havnt herd about metropolis events n years. would be great thought if they did it in the park again not like the last time where they did it in the parkin lot, that was weak.

well not to long ago i just spoke to a friend that works with cool world so far this is what i found out.

so far they are focusing on other markets presently- Miami, South America and they will be planning to come back to SF, with some new festivals soon. he'll keep me posted on developments and watch the relaunching of coolworld.com in the near future

SF needs some more large parties!
I mean its fun to go down to la but sometimes i wish they would be closer to home! Im hoping they can make this possible...

cyberfest is not going to come back coolworld are some shady motherfuckers.....those basterds no nothing about plur........but it is true we do need some new poduction crews to throw massives....

true tomb*bomb they know nothing about plur and about promoting and getting the right djs, but if someone did throw a massive rave it prolly wont be as packed like it used cuz of the hip hop movement going on here in the bayarea.

but if we were to do sumthing about it, i am down for that! lol but i would like to see a massive rave with the right set of big tyme djs in one main room, and new starting djs in the other room u know what i mean?

I went to Cyberfest in 2004, was not feeling the PLUR from MOST of the people who were there. The hip hop following was spoiling a lot of that...just too many people were there with poor attitudes. I don't think I'd go to Cyberfest again. I wasn't impressed with Cool World's presentation of the event.

yeah i was there also....pshh i wasnt feelin it either for pny 2005 @ cow palace they couldnt even fill up the front parking lot after that i knew it was going to go down hill. but also they didnt get big time dj's so that also effected them.

yeah, honestly, i dont feel that many massive raves nowadays have any PLUR vibes.. many of the ppl there just produce the same kinda vibes you see in the clubs - everyone for themselves and just maintaining the segregated cliques and groups that they walk in with. thats why i've always tried hitting up the small/medium sized parties and underground events. most of the time, they keep the good vibes flowin~...

i dunno about you guys.. well, i doubt it applies to any of you guys who post on this forum.. but personally, i dont think the newer generation understands much of what PLUR means, and how it really applies to the whole vibe of the party..

yeah, and actually, thats one of the reasons why i stopped raving for a few years (aside from work/school/family shizzz.. ) but now, im suffering from withdrawal!!! lol .. i need to party bad!!

yeah i think its time for the rave scene to go back to underground some how it repeats it self: goes underground then commercial, then underground then commercial. its better if the rave scene goes back to underground, cuz u n i know underground is were we have the most fun.

the newer generation wont know about the rave scene till they hear about it. thats how we got into the rave scene we hurd about it and got curious. the vibe is totally way better then the hip hop scene i mean at an underground rave all u get is plur, at a hip hop scene....fights anyone?? dont worry right now the rave scene is hitting all over the world right now and it will soon come back with better vibes, new djs (hopefully ill be one of them)


to me i think there is going to be two types of ravers...

the old schoolers who are into it for the music, and the scene

the new generation just going to the raves all high n tweaked by the music we play and listen
