This member is the original thread starter. rave Constructive criticism or lack of PLUR towards Fern Gully.

This is in no way hate towards the crew that threw Fern Gully, nor is it a message I would want to send over PM. I think that the fern gully review thread is a little too long for me to post what I want to say and probably for others who may feel the same way, also, too many double posts by the same people just commenting again on how much fun it was.

Anyway, I was trying to tell my friend how I would describe Fern Gully. At first I said it was ok, had more cons then pro's in my opinion and the list can go on. I'm gonna try and post about the cons in a positive way.... with back hand reason of why I think they were bad. Other things may be towards the ravers, not the crew, such as, the disgusting bathroom, NOT the crews fault, the RAVERS fault, how fucking disgusting.

First thing, advertising Through the looking glass, on your flyers, I thought was funny, I wouldn't want to put my worst rave as a reference to what we have done in the past. Could have picked a better one.

Second, the line was massive, my friends who didn't have presales, got in before me, who DID have presale, who had gotten in line, long after I got in the presale line....

Third, should have made your mind up about backpacks and have it on the flyer, not everyone has your myspace account and or Ravelinks to see if you can bring them or not, then saying small ones are ok, getting up in the line and having a raver friend tell me they aren't allowing anymore bags in, SOOO, I go put my bag away, get upfront to be told I need to have an ID. WTF? My wallet is in my bad which is in the car now, sorry guys, no good. Luckily a security remembered me from past events and said whatever. THEN, your female search girl, was gone off to the bathroom.. I was just flagged in with no check, none the less. Need a back up girl to frisk the ladies.

Fourth, smoke machine was horrid, I had to dance all the way in the back so I could breath.

Fifth, towards the ravers, too many fucked up people, honestly, I do drugs, I cant say anything bad about drugs, but I would never wanna have myself to the point of being sprawled out on the ground, legs wide opened, fucked up, sorry, too many people were grabbing at me from the ground and kissing me, if this was one of you guys, I'm sorry, you left a bad note about yourself to me. [DO TO SOME RESEARCH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE DOSED BY SOMEONE WHO IS SWEATING FROM ACID. IF YOU SAY YOU WERE DOSED, ITS ALL IN THE MIND BUDDY.] Ravers dont = drugs. You shouldn't have to worry about those things if you dont do the drugs. Im disappointed in a lot of my own friends for how they behaved at the rave on the drug[s] they were on. Real ashamed... =\

Sixth, DUDE, security was awesome, they had people in check and line and I appreciate them so much. I knew the guys, talked to them, said thanks, I heard a lot of security took drugs away from people, as in E, "straight out of my hand" they all said to me, you know what, they can, why, ITS ILLEGAL! Get over it people, if your in a spot to get your drugs swiped, then thats our bad. I had friends lose whippits, and I felt bad, bc I know Tri-atom crew are whippit whores and probably used them, none the less, sorry about that guys.

Seventh, dude, what crew doesn't have an emergency or medical kit around? Sorry Drifter about your cut, I would have given you a band aid from my bag.... IF THEY HAD LET IT IN!

Eighth, who's idea was it to bring box's out for people to dance on, kinda club like, kinda whore like, was no one maintaining them seeing the people or who were dancing? Sure its a your responsible for yourself, but no one needs 14 year olds dancing like whores on a box, making out, having older men and guys taking pictures of them, its disgusting, if I were part of the crew, I would have removed them. Disgusting. WOULD have been cool if some poi people got up there though...

Ninth, ahahah, just wanted to put it out there that I always feel like cattle when they get us to leave the rave, if you heard anyone moo'ing, yeah, that was me! =]

Meh. Now to finally describe what kind of rave this was, it was a little kids rave, a younger preteen, high school, advertised rave to me. I had fun, sure, wasn't so good though, was annoyed most the time, really showed me how much I appreciate 18+ raves that enforce the age thing, not to be mean, I have many younger raver friends who are rather mature and I enjoy being around, but I dont know the rest of the strange youngins, mean, bitchy, drugged out.

Cant wait for another big kids rave, sorry, the immaturity and lack of a vibe, there was no vibe, just stale.

I'm sure I'm gonna get either agreed replies, or being bitched at by Tri-Atom fans, or people I may have mentioned in here that can relate to being that fucked up kid, or whatever, have at it, I wouldn't mind an argument. Maybe you can explain things to me and contradict what I had said and find a reason for it so it doesn't come off as bad as I think.

Will I go to another tri-atom party? Maybe depending on the age, or the place, or the capacity or who is spinning, I was real hesitant about Fern Gully, but my lovely boyfriend go me a ticket and ride, so I can't complain, was well used and slightly enjoyed.

Have at it.

so are you just pissed because you got your drugs taken by security, or that you didn't get laid, or do you actually have some sort of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, all i see is bitching. Seems like your more pissed off about the attendees than the crew.

Meh, Im not bitching, and no, my drugs weren't taken, re-read the post, and I do, dude, re-read what I posted, and I am more pissed at the ravers, but non the less, most my post towards tri-atom and what they can do better.

oh I can see where you were mistaken about the drugs thing, I had forgotten " "'s for Drugs taken out of my hand, as in, what the people would tell me. Sorry about that.

I saw a whole line of creepers in the dnb room against the wall staring at ptot asses and other body parts.

It bugged me so I moved closer to the front with my friend. The smoke machine was a bit bothersome at first but then I just got used to it.
bathrooms were fucking gross. I don't understand how people take so long to use the bathroom and how dirty it gets within under thirty minutes.

but it was awesome meeting a bunch of people. I met a guy named Sleeves who came from Vegas just for Ferngully and there was someone else who came from Arizona for it too.

i was thoroughly confused when i read the Ferngully review thread. I didnt sort out all of my complaints about the rave/ravers/tri-atom, but i certainly saw some things wrong. you hit a bunch of em. i know the security crew that was used, and usually they're amazing. They did a great job keeping things out from what I can tell, but the fact that i was searched by a male a little too closely bugged me. I had a great time towards the beginning. the music was either hit or miss to me, but seeing everyone made me happy.

it was my bday rave and unfortunately after i popped later in the night, it all went downhill. guess that'll teach me not to do drugs right?

anyway... glad to see others had a great time, but i was not really feelin the vibes. was also pretty sad that they ran out of water, as i had not purchased a bottle.
next event for me will be 18+ i believe :]

Some parts I agree about, however some I either cannot talk about (wasn't there) or just don't feel that strongly about it.

Because Technologic was only a week before hand, I'm sure they stepped up security. Hell, I was wearing what I always wear (ufo's, shirt, no camelback this time) and i had hands going into my shoes, and checking just about every little crease in my pants/body. Obviously that was fine, I've been sober the past couple raves and don't deal, so it wasn't like I was sweating anything.

As far as the ravers are concerned, I agree. There were a LOT of fucked up people. I know this is a total blanket statement that I'll probably get hated for saying, but from what I found, almost all of the ravers/a majority of them were from so-cal. Take that as you will. I don't mean that ever so-cal raver is a druggie, I mean I ran into Pocahanta's friend in line who seemed like a really cool person who wasn't fucked up all night.

As far as the party goes, I found that a LOT of work went into it, but that people were not respecting any of the decorations/area/crew whatsoever. Such is what happens at all age events, you get the 14 year olds who think that they are the hottest shit around because they do this drug called ecstacy.

I didn't see the boxes, we bounced at 11:45 or so. I know some of you are wondering why we left so early, and it's mostly because we got what we wanted out of it. Neither of us were looking forward to the line-up. If there were some GOA or Trance then we'd probably have been there longer. Truth of the matter is that we only went to see people/dance some. Both were accomplished within the first hour-hour and a half, so there wasn't much point in staying longer. I could tell that the people were starting to get more and more fucked up, and the music was becoming less and less of what I wanted to hear. I think that the people who HAVE to stay at a rave till the very end need to re-think their whole game plan, you shouldn't go to a rave JUST to be at a rave, you should go for the music, people, and atmosphere.

Lex, you know me well enough to know that I hate dancers at ANY rave. They're always dressed like skanks and dance for shit anyways. I don't agree to any kind of boxes or stages for dancers, but I didn't see any of them.

I didn't have a problem with the smoke machine, I thought it was good in small amounts. I did have a problem with all of the smoking. I've been cigarette free since Pisces (march 8th) and just the overwhelming amount of smoke gave me a horrid headache and made me want to die. Thank god there was a tiny amount of fresh air outside, right in front of the DJ booth.

I've never been to a rave and not felt like cattle. Getting in, getting herded around, and getting out. Thus is the life when it comes to raves.

As for Tri-Atom, they all know that I back them. I'll do my best not to miss a party, but I do think that recently the ideas behind the raves have been going slightly downhill. I LOVED slumber fusion, but TTLG and other have just been... meh. The decorations are indeed impressive, but it still needs that perfect atmosphere, something that Skills can only get in small doses (Love), and even all of the other major production crews only get once in a while (Connected, if you got in...). Once the summer season is over, where crews go for quantity over quality, we'll be seeing all of those types of raves come back to us, the people who are at raves for things other then drugs/being fucked up.
