If you knew of any live pa djs out there (as any promoter should), you wouldn't have to make this thread. I thought you were done planning your party on the boards? Plus, what defines 'live pa' anyway?......serato? final scratch? abelton? reaktor? hardware?

Seriously dude...get your planning off the boards.

If you don't know anyone who plays live PAs, or has sound equipment, or spins a certain kind of music, or has venue info, then DON'T GET INVOLVED WITH THROWING PARTIES.

Seriously...take the time, to get to know the scene, make connections (and not just with little plurtards) learn from someone with experience, gain knowledge and experience, and THEN throw a party.

Stop being so impatient. The only person that you are helping out with being impatient is you, and your ego. No party kids, or promoters, or venues are being impacted positively by your unwillingness to gain experience before you tackle something like this.

Ugh...seriously dude wake up. I want to help you, but you are so ignorant right now that the only advice that we can give you is to STOP THROWING PARTIES...at least until you have enough experience to not have to ask questions like this.

"Live pa DJ's" is an oxymoron. Disk Jockey = Not Live

Serato, Final scratch, playing records/cds... = not live

Ableton, hardware, instruments, artists playing their own ideas in real time that's live.

Turntablism = pretty much live, in my opinion, as they are using the decks more like an instrument

DJing can be live you nitwit. Especially using laptop programs. This includes sampling, midi control, fx, remixing, resampling, etc. Technically this can be included in the 'pa' style, as long as it isn't simply playing tunes back to back. The only reason I brought this up is that the thread is entitled "attention djs."

Ummm...giving him false hope is the most irresponsible thing you could be doing right now. He doesn't need to hear overworked cliches about love and heart. If he is going to be putting people in a position where they are placing their safety in his hands, he needs to be more experienced and knowledgeable about what he is doing.

Sorry, I don't consider looping someone elses beats, remixing their order or adding a phaser or echo to said loops to be "Live PA".

Perhaps advanced DJing...but that's all.

I understand that Glazed is not aware of the distinction....
