Derly, sorry about being like the 10oth person to ask you about it, before i even got back on today I realized you had told other people NO. Thanks mandi... but i gotta learn at least 2-3 more moves before i'd be comfortable doing it on stage... i'd better get on that too, if i plan to be doing fire by burning man. Klover, yeah, looking forward to meeting ya... sorry i was kind of tool at G-Funk and missed that opportunity, but i'll tell ya why in person. Everybody else that's interested.. WOULD THE MORNING AFTER POP WORK FOR YA, OR ARE Y'ALL GONNA BE TOO TIRED? |

sounds good but you may wanna save your innovas for a party and not just for practice... trust me i've broken every innova i've used for poi and they weren't even mine. That innova dot pattern is where it's at though, uber trippy

I don't plan on practicing poi with inovas. I plan on buying two glowsticks and using them. The string is for both the orbit and the poi. |

...... really dawg you need to practice that orbit stuff?... j/k i have seen some pretty complex orbit moves and seen people's mind's blown by that stuff.

Well this will be my first orbit, and I have seen some stuff that looks really fun. The wraps mainly, and some of the more complex patterns. It's really just going to be one more toy for me to have when I finally take my friends to a rave. Lol they haven't even seen my current lights other than the pictures of me in my dorm so they don't even know what rave toys look like.

..sounds cool, learning wraps on anything will help you wrap in poi...
And you're damn right they have no idea what a rave toy looks like... here's a pic of me and my toys, sorry it's tiny, but i can't photograph myself doing poi. ![]() |

Their first rave should be the Till Daw Productions rave in Modesto. Last time I brought a friend it was to iSpin 2, and Darkener had those epic sabres. She didn't really think they were as cool as I did, but at least she got to see something like that her first time. This time around though I'll be bring my homies, and hopefully they'll actually want to play with the toys!

well, that sounds dope. And you are gonna have to get used to people not enjoying lights as much as you do.... sad kinda.... i don't really get it.... but some people got their priorities all fucked up.... I mean they're blinky/flashy lights people... you should be spending hours in awe....
...... i can't really get out to modesto parties, unless my friends swoop me up.... do you party i SF too? ETD POP? |

I'm going to fail out of my first year of college right before POP, so no money or possibility of that. However, I do hit up the SF parties once in a while. I was at Love and TTLG, and I hope that over summer I'll find ways to get out there. |

I would LOVE to meet up at Hippie Hill and teach everyone new moves!
I've been spinning for over a year and now I spin fire poi. I don't recommend using string I would get round show laces. better for weight and wraps. You want to have some weight on the end to make it easier. try 2 glow sticks on the end (can already be used) and I think LEDs are more durable than inovas and can be taped up for extra durability. I think the best thing to practice with is a tennis ball in the end of a long sock. great for wraps, stalls, orbitals and pretty much everything and its cheap and has a great weight! I really don't like string or glowsticks, but that may be because I'm used to chains and monkey fists so play around and see what works best for you. I can make it to hippie hill on a weekend and can bring practice poi, shoe laces, dead glowsticks, and fire poi. I've already taught a few people how to spin poi so it shouldn't be too hard. and connor, let me light up those triple heads!! PLEASE!! I'm ordering some soon but i want to play with some! If you are interested in meeting up just PM me or add me on myspace and lets talk! Mystery, you are awesome for starting this thread, I would love to be your poi buddy! Helen |
