A few notes on burning man...
WATER WATER WATER... dust mask Playa in EVERYTHING...EVERY hole...every nook and cranny... Old man with his balls painted blue... Speaking of public nudity, there's a lot of that. In a word moderntribalhedonism |

I'll be burning for my second time this year. A little secret: They take down the street signs on the night of the burn, plan on being disoriented unless you know your way around.

I'll be there for sure. Burning Man is the single most amazing place I have ever been - imagine if you could walk around the internet: thats what burning man is. A collection of ideas and art from all over the world. Its normal to see a naked grandmother walking up to a giant, fire breathing dragon while a pirate ship and a school of fish pass by.
Bring lights - lots of them. They help you see and help people see you at night. Don't take a lot of drugs - the experience is trippy enough without having to worry about being on an substance. Bring re-usable plates, silverware, and cups - there is plenty of free alcohol and food, but you have to bring your own plates, cups, etc. Try to get there during the day- its really hard to find a camp spot at night. The first thing you should do after selecting a camp is finding permanent markers on how to get there. Very few things are permanent at burning man - camps move, people switch road signs, etc. Be friendly and respectful - this is the most important thing. Dont get all fucked up and pee on someone's camp. If someone wants to talk, be polite. Dont be afraid of the people you meet unless the situation really is dangerous. If you have an open mind, it'll be the greatest thing you have seen in your life. |
