A new form of breakbeat had emerged with a character like no other, the track was immediately snapped up by James Zabiela for his Groovetech mix compilation and Hexadecimal was born! Later that year Sound Alliance signed to influential London based Distinctive records and another remix opportunity came Hexadecimal's way. This time the boys went one better turning 'From Home's epic house groove into a tech-funk workout, immediately snapped up by The Plumps DJ's as the opening track to their massively successful Fabric Live CD. As Scott & Ben's production skills were making them headways, they continued to cause dance floor destruction at home. They were already proud Saturday night residents at nationally renowned and respected club 'The Bomb' but began to move their sound out of town. After making appearances at some of the countries most talked about club ventures including slots at Bugged Out and Tyrant, Pete Jordan made them residents of his award winning Breaks Mecca 'Spectrum'. It was with Spectrum where Hexadecimal's sound exploded, taking up another residency at Spectrum's Birmingham franchise 'The Custard Factory' as well as frequent appearances at Spectrum club nights across the UK and beyond. Back in the studio things were really hotting up, working with a quality over quantity attitude Hexadecimal released their first original production 'Deep Frequency/Brain Machine' on Heavy Disco Records. At the first time of asking the track topped the DJ Magazine Breaks & Beats chart, receiving huge support from some of the worlds top DJ's and producers across many genres. This status only seemed to grow further when Hexadecimal's next original piece 'Cold Rock/Funky See Funky Do' caught Fingerlickin Records ears, a release on their sister label 'Vinyl Addiction' soon followed picking up recommended tune praises from some of worlds biggest dance music magazines as well as making it onto a top Australian dance magazine cover CD. In 2007 the productions haven't stopped, while Ben's took a break from the scene Scott has continued to push Hexadecimal's sound relentlessly. Now releasing on home label 'Sound of Spectrum' 2006/2007 has seen a string of original Hexadecimal releases and remixes including 'Ripkick' his best selling track to date. 'This is it', a signature big room production with alien like synths and pounding beats, narrowly missing out on a nomination for 'Best Tune' at 2007 Breakspoll Awards whilst gracing many a top flight DJ's record box. Hexadecimal's remixes of 'Frakah – Alive' and DJ Hal's – Follow Me also got a big thumbs up, getting Radio One plays in several countries as well as appearing on a recent DJ Magazine cover mount CD. Recently gigs have seen Hexadecimal perform to some of his biggest audiences to date. Spending New Years Eve in Birmingham supporting Groove Armada to around 2000 people, on a bill, which also included heavy weights such as DJ Yoda, Annie Mac, Erol Alkan and the Stanton Warriors. More recently Hexadecimal smashed it at charity event Drop Beats and Bombs in Birmingham for the second year running, playing one of his best sets to date to a packed arena. It has been gigs like these and frequent Spectrum outings that have helped Scott to success at this year's International Breakbeat Awards. Winning Best Breakthrough DJ and coming runner up in the Best Breakthrough Producer category, Scott made his Fabric debut the same night as part of one of the biggest breakbeat lines ups ever seen. So what's next? A much-anticipated album is in progress for 2008 as well as a Hexadecimal mix CD compilation. Watch the shelves for new productions and remixes such as 'Tripswitch', Splank record's classic 'Roland's Revenge', 'Kutlur's - Don't Panic and DJ Hal's latest work 'Close My Eyes'. This summer will also see Hexadecimal firmly on the festival roster with appearances at The Glade and underground festival of the summer, Human Zoo. Hexadecimal continues to push himself ahead of the pack, and well beyond the walls of breakbeat.
