Glad to see people have enough respect for themselves or thier craft not to whore themselves out.
It's hard enough in the market as it is without people outright advertising that they'll do it for free. A wise friend of mine used to say: An artist who gives away his talents is obviously trying to compensate for a lack of something else. Quote:

i dont produce music, i only play other peoples releases so i feel like i have really no right to charge money for it. let alone this is something i do because i love it passionately. i've been spinning trance since 01' and throwing parties for 5 years now and haven't made a dime off the scene because its music that i feel that i'm bringing out to people. and i'm content with that, because its what i like doing and i find it much more rewarding to play for free anyways.
i find it so funny to me when i try to book an upcoming dj for a party and he tries asking for $100 - for what i ask? i just laugh and tell them politely, no thanks. |

Big ups to you Tenchi I think its great that you would like to contribute to the scene without wanting anything in return. As for the last post I think you should rexamin why it is you became a DJ in the scene. If you want to make money fine do so but remember PLUR why would you want to beat down on a fellow raver.Mayby its that type of attitude that makes the scene the way it is.If every DJ should get paid right out of the gate then how will kids ever learn how to spin.I hope to see you at an event soon Tenchi.

hey thanks for that comment... i see what your saying. as for the comment i said on not paying up and coming dj's, i just feel everyone needs to pay their dues. i really hate how commercial this scene is.
