Love

Love has been the topic of every aspect of humanity; war, hate, peace, movies, food, cars, adventure, romance, etc. Its' concept dominates every part of our lives.
"Its' concept" ..
Ive been in love before. "love" to me mean something just short of complete emotional dependence of somebody, to be separated should feel like complete agony. When you love somebody .. you should strive to make them as happy physically and emotionally as you possibly can .. complete devotion.
When such a pact is destroyed, its beyond words to describe the feelings that constantly bombard you in an unrelenting assault. The pain is so great that the scars it leaves can make the strongest willed people subconsciously put up "walls" to shield themselves from any possibility of such a commitment.
Thats whats happened to me. Ive somehow managed to fall victim to the love spell a few times. It's not something you plan. You cant just look at somebody and think 'omg i love them.' It just happens. Its a feeling that your intelligence has no control over.. they become the backseat driver when emotions are speeding wrecklessly down the icey, curvy road.
People will enter what i call flash relationships (a friendship that is quickly transformed into one of great passion and craze,) where the "L" word is thrown around coupled with lots of physical show of emotion. Most people will recognize that state as 'Lust,' but most people will not be able to discern it from 'love' and fall victim to those relationships that last maybe 2-3 months where both parties are left wondering 'what happened to the magic?'
Flash relationships rarely ever work and rarely ever leave the parties involved feeling happy with each other. They are the harbinger of the death of friendships.
Quite honestly .. i hate how the word 'love' has been tossed around so much that you can tell a woman that you truely love her and you can in the same sentence describe how youd love to watch that new funny movie.
There are a few people i love, but in these cases love doesnt come close to describing the feelings i have - my mom, sister, and brother. They are all in a position where they can truely do no wrong - yes i know that sounds stupid from an objective point of view - but my sister can go and massacre a family - and she would still be my little sister who i would end the world for to make her happy.
Then there is another type of love .. friendship. It isnt romantic in the slightest, and like the love of family .. close friendship is one that cannot be torn. There are a few people that i would truely do anything for; they know who they are - thank you for being absolutely awesome people, youve been a blessing, inspiration, hope, kindness, love, greatness, and euphoria to my life.
.. so before you go and tell people you love them .. think about the word for a minute. Expand your vocabulary and use words to describe your feelings. Falling in 'love' should not be something you do in a short period of time - especially overnight .. that isnt love - and be careful who you open your soul up to, because they have the power to destroy you from the inside out, and that is something that is incredibly hard to recover from without some form of self-desctruction.

Gmta. This is why I do not say the "L" word, because I'm afraid of it and its consequences.
When I am confident that one would never hurt me (although I've been wrong every time in the past), the word will come out in due time and when it feels right.Posted 6.3.2009 at 10:32 am by JennMayhem
