it WAS shinichi's first time playing in the U.S., he had to throw down a killer set. i was there the entire time, but i don't remember it being as mindblowing as what i saw of dj dan and donald glaude's set on youtube!
he's great, he'll probably be bigger later on, but i wouldn't say he's the "new age of the electro genre." there are a lot of fucking electro artists out there. but i love shinichi because he's less "dirty electro beats" sounding, more pleasant/journeylike. i get sick of the same dirty nu-rave electro, maybe cause edm for me started with that.
the local LA electro DJs, like le castle vania (sorry) at the basspod stage at EDC, are so whatever to me... you can see at least half that shit in one $10 night clubbing in LA. the same crowd are playing again at infocus.
anyway, my favorite of him has gotta be the remix of "prayers" by clazziquai.
