wow, i have a pretty similar story, i was into a lot of rock, then thrash metal, then finally someone got me into death metal w/ growls through opeth, and then i just started to like a lot more death metal including melo-death and tech-death. yeah grindcore can be a little harsh on the ear, some of it is really funny (anal cunt and the locust to name a few), some of it just sucks, some of it is still legit. yeah metal shows are so fun to go to. speaking of which, you know At The Gates (that melodic death metal band that disbanded in the 90s) is havinig a reunion tour and theyre comin to SoCal, dunno if in SD but for sure in LA. its gonna be a blast!
