FTFY
and so nobody tries to prod my anus for not giving a reason:
psy is very well thought out music, much music theory and styles fuzed into one genre, the genre is always changing and progressing, unlike most others nowadays. psy/goa is almost 20 years old as a genre and it has never stopped changing, never stopped getting better. psy artists are much more of artists than most of other genres, since they do completely 100% live acts, they actually PLAY the music, not just PA. been listening to electronic music my whole life, and in my opinion psy is by far the best
Drum n bass is intense as fuck, and its classic rave music. it gets pretty repetitive sometimes, but theres several different styles of it and theyre all pretty damn good.
breaks is also very progressive, with new styles spawning pretty often. this is cuz the concept of breaks is as simple as possible... which isnt really a bad thing since it gives the genre a lot of opportunity for changes
hard trance is kinda cheesey and most of it is the same uniform upfront style, which doesnt give much room for progression...
dubstep.... just cuz you cant dance to it doesnt mean its not good.the fact that its hard to dance to it DOES mean its not good for a rave. i heard dubstep being spun at some art gallery type dealy in SF, that was cool. deffinately not party material though... maybe like 4-6AM timeslot
house as a genre is quite dead, but it had a decent run back in its day...
HHC is dead, it has been for years, spinning it requires such a minimal amount of skill, most of the new tracks are either complete crap, or sound exactly like the slightly crappy tracks of a few years back..
hardstyle was never good, unless youre a tweek nazi
