I know the cali scene is awesome, and i personally never bitch about prices.
i just think MEMF has a great production especially with the vast amount of genres being spun, especially at only 50 dollars(now) for three days with all the things it has to offer.
the one thing i *Hate* about the SoCal scene is the amount of people there that have blinders on, like my good friend alex.
just because they do not know the Djs, and they haven't heard of the international headliners, does not mean its a shitty event.
they just skip over the DJ info and the stuff they've produced and the events they've played at.
I travel back and forth from SF and LA and just in that distance you get people who think "nah SoCal is better than Norcal...i dont know any of those DJs"
so you can imagine what people would say about this.
its weird....they're afraid of DJs they haven't heard of or something.
even if i knew absolutely NO ONE spinning at MEMF i would think its great, because in 300+ DJs you are bound to find tons of stages that are bumpin(if people show up) and meet a lot of DJs+crew.
i think it is great that they are taking this risk in order to make the scene larger. I hope it is a success, because if all goes well i could go next year.
