Some actual tips:
If you are a beginner start with microlights, not inovas. They are lighter and its much easier to start off with. orbitlightshow.com for 3led ones that display 7 colors for only 7$ and free shipping. Same cost as inovas you just gotta wait for the mail. As far as i know you can only put together 2 inovas for an orbit (unless someone knows how to do more, iv tried a couple ways but it always ends up unbalanced not to mention heavy as fuck) but you can use up to 6 microlights.
Inova low setting looks sweet with the dotted effect if you do go that route. Put one on high and one on low and it will be sweet. If you want a microlight that has that effect you need a photon freedom which will cost you 20$ (but freedoms can do ANY brightness so you can do dots or lil lines and everything inbetween).
I find the strobe setting on the invoas to be pretty useless in orbits.. just me tho
If you want a smooth transition from unwinding to spinning big circles, get it wound up and then stretch it slowly, you can make bigger shapes this way and the lights wont get wound again by themselves so you can transition to spinning smoothly. It also makes MUCH nicer stars if youre having trouble with em.
thats all i can think of now. good luck
o yea and i found some rainbow colored string at home depot if youre lookin to be artsy. I think it looks fuckin sweet.
