MAX JACOBSON. KIDDO, JESSE LEE & TONY KASPER ALL CAME THROUGH WITH
FLYING COLORS.
Tony Kasper's set was recorded and came out spectacular,
unfortunately due to a powers strip getting unplugged, the 10-12:30
timeslots were erased from my digital recorders memory (no there is no
auto save feature on the Roland 880). Regardless you may find bangin'
Jesse Lee & Kiddo mixes hosted @ UndergroundExistence.info, and if Max
would like to submit me a mix I will be happy to host him on the site...
We apologize for anybody that was not able to get in due to the sudden
removal of our all age privileges. This was not brought to our attention
until the first underage groups of kids came INSIDE the venue. The
removal of this privilege was due to a separate promoter from the local
area attracting negative attention the weekend before, causing the Cafe
to get ticketed for having underage kids... Had we any idea that the
spot had been cited, we would have IMMEDIATELY brought it to our publics
attention and saved many of the people we had to turn away the hassle of
trying to support. Because of that issue, and the realization that this
would be our last show at this venue, we chose not to charge a cover for
the night, and those 21+ that did make the effort to support, helped us
achieve an excellent, music orientated crowd, vibe and party IMO =)
The risk we take when operating under the radar and outside of a legal
set of operating rules is that these things tend to happen, the plus is
that we give the community a unique chance to come together and support
EDM across a spectrum of age groups while we are in operation...
UndergroundExistence.info aims to create a bit of increased
exposure and appreciation for local artists coming out of our EDM
community within younger age groups. After 8 events over the course of
16 weeks, I believe we have achieved that basic mission at this series.
We can't help but be a bit disappointed however that the potential this
spot had was not fully realized (ONCE AGAIN), due to greedy venue owners
and their readiness to work with anybody that brings in the smallest
amount of profit for them.
This just adds to the idea that when something "off the beaten path" and of
"substance" is made available to support (rather in a renegade block party format
or at an all ages bar, loft etc.), jump on it it while you can,
events like these tend to be 1 of a kind, & don't go on 4ever!
