Straight outta' Detroit Rock City, DJ Assault is the brainchild -- neigh, the self-described DJ character -- of Craig De Shan Adams, one of the the original primer voices in the ghettotech genre. Combining elements of house with electro, hip hop, techno; ghettotech is equal parts Chicago, Detroit and Miami, dripping with the raunchiness of the latter and the slickness of both the formers. Decades before B-More club took hold and Lil Jon skeet skeeted his way onto the scene, DJ Assault was "beatin' those bitches with a bat."
Co-headlining is DJ Pierre, aka the godfather of Acid House, a Chicago DJ staple for over 20 years. As a member of Phuture, his 1987 EP Acid Trax – what has been called the “first Acid House recording” -- paved the way for yet another wave of innovation among the already diverse Chicago house music scene. A proper Roland 303 Jedi, his production bursts with juggernaut bass, slow rolling and pounding its way out of the deepest four-on-the-floor abyss.
Chi town and D Block combine for one night of hip-house insanity, an event that threatens to shake the foundation of the Green Dolphin Street until it breaks off the shore and slides into the murky depths of the Chicago River.
