Heh, political threads are fun
I'm not going to pull out my guns here and rep for the candidate that I'll vote for, but I'll offer some insight.
First off, everyone has an opinion. Saying someone is retarded because of it is just about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Opinions are what makes us individuals. If we didn't have opinions, we (1) wouldn't have politics, and (2) would be in about the same boat as all the countries run by oppressing dictators. People can think how they want. You've got an opinion, you can express that on your ballot. That's all. You don't need to go beyond that and diss other people because they don't agree with you. The jewish population of germany didn't agree with what Hitler thought. What did he do to them? He killed millions of them.
Hilary is a candidate that certainly can improve on what we've got going right now (just about anyone who takes office could). She also has appeal to low to middle class people because she wants to offer more social services and benefits to low to middle income families. This certainly is good in theory. It would cost our country more money, but people might live a little easier. My beef with her is that her campaign seems to revolve around a smear campaign on Obama, not necessarily an actual plan to improve things in the country. She has a few ideas, but her campaign as a whole troubles me.
I find it ironic all of you are interested in denying amnesty to immigrants already living in this country. I'm not going to make judgements, but how many of you would want to go sit in a field and pick produce all day? How many of you would want to push a cart around a motel cleaning the rooms of guests? How many of you would like to work at a car wash wiping off cars? Not too many I'm assuming. Be thankful you don't have to because you know who does? That immigrant who just wants to legally live in this country so he can continue doing what he does so that he can support his family.
In general I find America to be one of the most stuck-up yet dumb countries in the world. We love to flex our ego/wallet/armed forces, yet we have some of the most retarded policies and ideals on things. The video that person posted above is horribly ironic. We consider ourselves to be the almighty power in this world, yet we can't think outside the realm of ourselves.
Honestly I'd love to move out of this country because of all the things I don't like, but there are too many luxuries and benefits I've become accustomed to that the transition would be insane.
