exactly. it's the "opening the eyes" effort that's important.
what i'm always weary of when pressuring kids our age to vote
is that i might be encouraging them to vote educatedly.
voting for hilary because she's a woman
voting for obama because he's black
voting for mccain because he's republican
voting for ron paul because hes far-fetched
you can't just go to the voting booth
quickly glance over the pamphlets and point to a candidate
fill in the bubble and voila. voted.
then boast to your friends that you voted and have an opinion and everyone else are jackasses for not 'caring' about the outcome of our country
it doesn't work like that.
background research needs to be done. minute details need to be calculated.
that's probably how bush got into office in the first place. people flipped a coin.
