Welcome back state side. The following is just an FYI (nothing more, nothing less):

2) molly = "technically of age" queen of Dallas RL postings b/c she’s about the only girl who writes on here (RedP and Jesus are her blog goons) She doesn’t mean to come off a a witch but use poor grammar, spelling, and/or murder the queen's English in general and the CAPS LOCK fury will be unleashed (and./or smart azz reply) Lastly, the queens #1 irk - noobs who come in on RL and ask to know where the good places are without looking first. But generally, she's fair enough to give everyone a second chance after the first (and usually last) warning.
3) Jesus = fairly big DJ who I've heard and have at least moderate respect for so far as he really knows what he's doing behind the decks
4) me = nobody who comes here when I actually have time to be going out in a few weeks and rarely posts b/c I really don’t care enough to say anything about topics i.e. - im, not all that into the imaginary Dallas "scene" (so your welcome).
DALLAS RL = typically no more than 10 people posting frequently when there’s something going on in DFW - which is NOT all that often. Stick to the clubs b/c those are the only place that bring in Big names/shows. Raves just don't happen here but on the RAREST of occasions (i.e. Meltdown on Halloween). So accept it as a conscience of living in Texas and drink water because everyone else has done so (more or less) and make the best of what you can to get by.
And "a" answer for your question (so far as Dallas is concerned)
Lizard Lounge has the names (DJ Irene, Icy, Crystal Method, ect.) stuffed into a club that more or less has to house all the commercial techno heads on any given night. Raydar is the local DJ in the side room that is the real reason to go b/c he's my Dallas hero as he's always a sound for disgruntle ears.
Afterlife is the teenybopper kandi kid store that includes a Barn with couches outside but has my vote b/c the people there awesome so long as your not asking for drugs (people caught there with drugs / on drugs would be kicked out b/c that’s how last standing techno sanctuaries like that get shut down). and far away from downtown Dallas and high crime areas (in my opinion - *may* not be factual whets so ever)
Warehouses and private parties = your rolling the dice, could be great, could be dirty, could be setup by NARCs, could be super space shuttle fun.
Insomnia = strip club by day, dance club with stripper poles after 4 am (or something like that) Never been but heard its one of those after party places that is better than some doods basement with grungy couches but not the "the party will never end" we all are hoping for oh so often.
