Keep your eyes on bens myspace for more information about Ben's exciting new project with American Trance & Bass Legend Subsonik. Teamed up under the stage name "Subsenix," their unique style is sure to bring huge beats, massive bass, and intricate textures and melodies to drum and bass events worldwide.

Ben owes his success to his own unique brand of drum and bass music. his fresh sound, comprised of rich trancy textures, dirty bass, pounding drums, and hauntingly beautiful vocals, is direct result of his open-minded approach to all styles of music. He enjoys listening to everything from punk to rock to trance, but his true passion lies in drum and bass.

As a DJ Ben's travels have taken him several places in canada. his stops in 2005 alone include his home town of toronto, as well as Montreal, London, and many others, as well as coast to coast across the southern united states, including notable stops such as Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, San Jose, miami, and several others. Unfortunately in recent years, Ben's hectic schedule and devotion to capturing his sound in the studio has dictated that accepting DJ gigs is no longer possible.

Subsonik fell in love with Drum & Bass in 1996 but has in fact been involved with music for much longer, having played the drums for over 20 years! He began DJing and in 1997 played his first event alongside Wally ‘Pish Posh’.

It took seven more years for Mark to get bitten by the production bug, but once he had there was no looking back. Combining his love of both Trance and Drum & Bass, his musical output mixes the epic melodies and atmospherics of the former and the punchy breakbeats and weighty bass of the latter to devastating effect.

It’s his love of rhythm and musicality that is setting his sound apart from the crowd and winning him the support of DJs up and down the D&B scene, from the aforementioned John B to Evol Intent and Cause 4 Concern.

His unique productions have been picked up by Cymbalism, Gain, G2, Beta Recordings, Sudden Def, Nightbreed UK, Incite and of course, Ben XO’s new label: Xposure.
