Why?

Because this is the lamest shit I've heard since Oakey's - Bunkka...

Don't like the progressive stuff that's out there... I don't blame you.. But open your mind a bit... How can you say that trance is "souless"?... Because there's no bongos or horns?... Because most trance doesn't have a certain "tribalism" to it...

Trance is rock star's music... That's why it's soo accepted... It's produced, written, and constructed in much of the same manner as alot of rock and roll is... Rock and Roll is genuinely American music... So it makes sense why Americans would flock to trance sounds...

You want some original trance choons... Try scoping out the subgenres... Psytrance, Goa, Acid Trance... About as "un-funk" as one will get... But it's production value makes it one of the most technical EDM styles out there...

!!!... I just realized what your real problem with trance is... You're one of those techno purists!!!... You're distaste for trance goes deeper than just not liking it... Trance took your precious techno music to a softer level... It took the 4/4 bang and blip-and-bleep sounds out of the warehouses and into clubs... Techno music remained an idle sound until house and trance evolved from it...

I love techno... Techno is the root of trance music...It's the root of most modern EDM... For this I can respect... But techno purity is long dead... Way too many people with way too many influences producing these days...
You are right about one thing. I am a Techno purist. I like my music original, underground and to the point. Trance just isn't like this. I don't like trance, it sucks. Period. I will never give it a chance because it is and will always be the downfall of electronic music.

Epic Trance. Ha. Psy Trance. Ha. Progressive. blah blah blah. I have heard it all before.

And if you don't think I know music to apoint where I haven't listened to enough trance to make an honest decision, well then try working for a well know internet record store for 8 years doing the buying and sampling of ALL music, and then tell me I need to listen to more music. I have over 10,000 records in my collection too, and there is house, techno, reggae, hip hop, and everything in between.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
