I'd suggest for your kick using a compressor...I used to use reason also & i remember there being one in there....do a google search to find some good tutorials on proper useage

there's a fx noise in the back ground kinda...like a accent.
can you going a time stretch on that? I don't recall reason being able to use VSTs...but are there any plug ins you can use?

maybe you can give that sample some variance?

I've been kinda outta the loop with reason for a while so i'm not sure what new features it has...i switched to Cubase some time back...a lot of people use Fruity Loops also, keep these two in mind if you ever choose to upgrade.

hehe, thx. i actually just made a go of exporting my stuff from reason into individual waves and moving it into acid/soundforge to do more cleanup. been leaning cubase and acid a bit recently as it seems like im going to need to be using multiple programs to get a full sound out of stuff. i have an account there already but I forgot to check it out, but i've been using some other forums lately too so I'll make sure to check that one again too :]

as far as the composition, it's not supposed to be generic really with respect to the genre. I'm kinda trying to do my own thing, but im really really heavily influenced by goa/psy so that's kinda my base. Just trying to make something enjoyable really, hehe :]

after testing doing cleanup and some mastering stuff in soundforge/acid, this is where i'm at with it:
