and i ditto all of dancerootZ's views as well.
"...a wicked beat is still a wicked beat..."
to me, breakbeats are an innovative and ever-changing combination of the sickest drum and bass beats mixed with a plethora of different sounds and music styles. i love house, d'n'b, progressive, tribal, goa, electro, etc. and i enjoy dancing differently to each of these genres as well but when i want to throw down (and i mean throw down wicked hard) breakbeats is where i shine. i bring out every type of dance style i have ever known with a sprinkle of martial arts moves along with some spur-of-the-moment creativity and it's just absolute wicked mayhem on the dance floor when i put on my pumas.
it's also pure bliss when a breaks dj can bring together your favorite beeps, bops and booms and mix it seamlessly with house, electro, rock, reggae, etc. because it takes you even higher still.
house, trance and the other genres have some great dancers but with breakbeats you can really mash every dance style together to orchestrate a mad beat symphony.
yeah, breakbeats draws the best dancers and it IS the underground.
here's a mix i'm listening to that i'd like to share with my peers and breakbeat newbies alike. download and play it loud.
