you mean fx as in lil buttons that make a siren sound, or a whistle sound

There are some useful fx, like flanger etc but particly for someone still learning the most important thing is to learn to beat match properly, not mess about with toys.

Like i said before it really depends what you want to do, i use a numark mixer its small and simply which is useful for me because i do a fair amount of scratching

If your mainly beatmatching id go with a vestax, the pvc-275 would be a good bet can pick them up for about £200 on ebay, also its used in alot of clubs/raves so its good to get aclimatised to the equipment you would use when your playing out.

Make sure you buy vinyl decks too....
